Due Date for Game
There is no specific due date that we have been given for our game. My teacher said that the game is due by the end of this week. However the whole of year 9 will not be here on Thursday or Friday. So the option is we have to hand it in by the end of the week or early next week.
Problem for Today - 28th of November 2011
Today Mr. Cavill asked us to upload a copy of our game so that he can see how much we have done. However I have saved it on my home computer and I am not able to upload any part of my game as the only ones I have on the school computer is just when I was playing around with Sratch at the beginning of term. So today I am not going to be able to upload.

Notaland Evaluation
Notaland Evaluation
Rating: 10/10
Notaland was a very easy to use system. I loved using it as it was very convenient and easy to use. I was able to upload videos, photos and sound files and Notaland also provided their own Clip Art, Fonts which made it even better to use. It was very easy to use and I was able to create something very interesting even with something so basic. I had a lot a fun creating my page on Notaland :). Below is a screenshot of the page I created, it is a collage of images.

This Term's Project
This term we will be creating an E-Book for our assessment. The final copy of the E-Book will be doen on Powerpoint and will be saved as a Powerpoint Show. I will be working by myself to create this. We have been provided with a choice of quite a few topics and out of all the topics we have to choose 4 topics to talk and discuss about in the assessment. The topics I have chosen are:
- Handheld Devices
- Social Networking
- Secondary Storage - Flash Drives and DVD & Blu-Ray Discs
- Bluetooth

The World of Multimedia - Advantages and Disadvantages
Do you see the advantages/disadvantages to the use of such multimedia technology?
The advantages of using these types of multimedia is that everything is connected on one system. A disadvantage to this is that if one device fails then all will as they are all connected on one system.
Another advantage is that nearly everything is available in one place.

The World of Multimedia - Multimedia Devices and Services
What multimedia device or service would you find hardest to live without?
I think that the mulitmedia device that people and myself are most dependent on is a mobile phone. People are very dependent on their iPhones or Android Smart Phones as they now have everything on them including the Internet, Email, Messenger, Cameras and applications which provide a variety of services. If that was taken away from the owners most of them would be feeling lost and unorganised as their lives are based on their phones.

New Storyboard
We had to re-do the storyboard as we had to cut out the dancing so we made a new storyboard. This is it:
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro
My phone is the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro. To get videos from my phone to the computers at school I must have my USB connector cable. To get it on the computer you must plug one end in the phone and the other in the computer. To get the file on the computer you must drag it from the phone into a folder on the computer. My phone stores the videos as mp4 files.
Done
We have finished our IST Video. Beth has put it on a DVD and we are going to hand it in on Wednesday.

Data Compression - Ratio
Data compression which is also known as compression power is a term used to evaluate the reduction produced by a data compression equation. The equation in Compressed Size divided by the Uncompressed Size = Compression Ratio.
Finished Filming
On Friday when Beth and Julianne came over we had most of our filming done. On the weekend Beth had taken the footage home and put it all together she found out that all the footage had gone for the full amount of the song. We also realised that we didn't actually need the dancing footage otherwise the main footage would not be included with the music. We have also had to make changes to the storyboard as we will not be having any dancing in it. The whole video roughly goes for 4 minutes and I am not sure about the timing as on the criteria it says that it must go for 5 minutes. All together the filming is done and we have nearly finished the video all we are doing now is editing.

Filming
Today Beth and Julianne are coming over to my house for filming. We hope to have at least half of the music video completed after today. We are doing the scenes with the piano and at the park today. In class today I have also put all the still images into a Windows Movie Maker. So far the final copy of the movie goes for 9 seconds so we are hoping the movie goes a lot longer after today.
Introduction Filming
Today, Beth was back at school so we decided to start the film. Our introduction is still shots to make up the name (Tonight Alive) and song (Wasting Away) of the band. We used my phone camera and put the white paper on the grass as it contrasted with the white paper. Below are 2 of the 26 still shots we are using for the introduction.

What is data compression?
Data compression or source coding or bit-rate reduction is the method of encoding information using less binary digits than the original copy would use. Compression has it's advantages as it helps to decrease the consumption of high-priced objects such as hard-drive space.

Introduction to Video - PAL, NTSC, SECAM
Explain the video standards PAL, NTSC and SECAM. What are the main differences between them?
PAL - Phase Alternating Line
Is a an analog encoding system used in broadcasting television systems. This particular system is used more than any other system in the world.
NTSC - National Television System Committee
Is an analog encoding system used in broadcasting television systems. This system is most commonly used in North America, most countries in South America and in a few countries in Asia.
SECAM - Sequential Colour with Memory (or Sequentiel couleur a memoire)
Is an analog colour system first used in France. Henri de France and his team invented SECAM. Historically, it is the first ever colour television standard in Europe.
Each standard is incompatible with the other. For example, as the Northern American standard is NTSC a person from Australia will have to convert a video from America in order to watch it on an Australian TV.

Video Assignment - Storyboard
Today Beth and I were working on our storyboard for our music video which is a requirement. We have done about 5 scenes at the moment and we have also worked on costume plans. We have changed a few things around which will increase the length of the video. We are also incorporating still image shot while still using video for about 95% of the video. We are creating the storyboard using paint instead of hand drawing it.

Plans Delayed
The plan of our music video is that Julianne and I are best friends but then Julianne tragically passes away and it is basically me moving on from Julianne's death. In one of the scenes we were planning to have me looking through a photo album that has pictures of Julianne and myself. This lesson we were going to take pictures of Julianne and myself to put in the photo album and Beth was supposed to take the photos with her camera. But we didnt find out until this morning that Beth was office monitor so we had our plans delayed about 1 lesson.

29.3.11
Everytime I exported each image I saved it as a .PNG file. I used Inkscape to export these images and on Inkscape each file is an .SVG file. SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphic.
29.3.11
The process I went through to make this animation is simple. First I used Inkscape as the program to create the animation.
Inkscape Logo left.
Then I got a cartoon image of Barry B Benson main character from the Bee Movie and chose the image to animate for my animation. Then i started exporting images of him and letters for my animation. Once I had exported all the images I then imported all 310 images into Windows Live Movie Maker. Then I had to change the duration of the video and once it was done i saved it into a .wmv file and then uploaded it to blogger.

25.3.11
For the animation I used Inkscape for my drawing and animating tool.I chose this tool because Mr Cavill gave us a tutorial on this particular program. After he showed is this it seemed the easiest to animate and export each frame.

14.3.11
Today I have been working a lot on my assignment at the moment my animation has gone for 10 seconds with a duration of 0.07. I think that in a few lessons time I will be done. I have tested it on Windows Movie Maker and it looks good. :)
